An Introduction to Dr. Bret Dyer and His Practice

Periodontists are specialized dentists who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of gum diseases and the placement of tooth implants. Choosing the right periodontist to help you with your oral health is a big decision. Dr Dyer and his team at Fort Bend Periodontics and Implantology have decades of experience serving Sugar Land and the surrounding area.

Education & Experience

A Periodontists must complete a four-year undergraduate college degree and graduate from an accredited dental school with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medical Dentistry (DMD) degree. A periodontist must also complete formal training in an American Dental Association (ADA) accredited periodontology residency program.

Dr. Dyer graduated with a B.A. in biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1984. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from Baylor College of Dentistry (Dallas) in 1988. Dr. Dyer then attended the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston where he earned a master’s in periodontics in 1991.

Dr. Dyer has won several awards for his research on regeneration, which has been published in a variety of professional journals. His research on laser treatments led to the FDA approval of the use of lasers in specific periodontal treatments.

Technology

Fort Bend Periodontics and Implantology is dedicated to bringing patients in Sugar Land and the surrounding area the best care possible. They have invested in state-of-the-art technology and stay at the leading edge of new techniques.

Laser Dentistry

Using hard and soft tissue lasers Dr. Dyer is able to provide precise and comfortable treatment faster and with better results than traditional oral surgeries. With laser dentistry, many treatments no longer require anesthesia. There is little to no swelling and recovery time is faster than other methods.

Digital & 3D X-Rays

Compared to traditional dental X-rays that use uncomfortable film and take a while to process Fort Bend Periodontics & Implantology uses digital X-rays. These X-rays are more comfortable to take and produce the images almost immediately, which leads to developing a treatment plan fast.

Ozone Therapy

This therapeutic option for curing infections within teeth is a more conservative treatment method than antibiotics. Using ozonated water or gas, ozone therapy fights the bacteria at the heart of your tooth infection, destroying it with no unpleasant side effects and leaving you with a healthy tooth once again.

As your Sugar Land Periodontist Fort Bend Periodontics and Implantology promises to treat you like more than just a set of teeth. Dr. Dyer and his team tailor their care of each patient to address their unique needs.
